Community Involvement

I am very active in my local commuity and work contiously to help better others' lives and the community as a whole! Here are some of my activities:

Alpha Psi Rodeo Co-Chairman 2016

The Alpha Psi Rodeo is the single largest fundraising event conducted by the students of Auburn University. In 1965, the men of Alpha Psi at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine started the Alpha Psi Rodeo. As the event gained popularity, it was opened to Auburn students and individuals not affiliated with the school. Greek organizations were invited to join and events were created specifically to include Auburn University’s fraternities and sororities. This years event had 10,000 atendees and raised over 100,000 dollars that was donated to Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and several local chairties! The event featured a rodeo and a musical line-up consisting of ACM nominees The Eli Young Band, Josh Thompson, and a local artist Muscadine Bloodline!

This annual event has a lot of moving parts and takes a great deal of delegation and teamwork from every brother of Alpha Psi Theta Chapter.

Vet School Open House: Community Education

The Vet School open house is an annual event where we open our doors to the public to conquer one goal... community education! Each year the students work tirelessly to help teach children and adults alike the propper way to approach animals, to care for animals, and to educate the community on the role veterinary medicine impacts the community. We even get to help showcase all of our wonderful pets in the annual parade of breeds that helps educate the community about specific breeds and their requirements and needs as a pert! Being able to help put on this event helps to keep me grounded and going when the stress of vet school adds up!

StoryBook Farms Volunteer

StoryBook is a magical place where kids with special need can go and meet their favorite storybook horse or farm animal and learn to ride. This interaction is a form of therapy for many of these kids and gives them an outlet to be themselves. It was truly awe-inspiring to be able to help keep this farm free to the kids who need it by volunteering my time to mend fences, muck stalls, and poop scoop pastures. There is no better place to see the true meaning of the human-animal bond.
